Is there anything hooked on the clutch? I had my floor mat wedge down there and It took me ahwile to figure out why it was sticking cause Im a dumbass. Other than that check the master cylinder reservoir for bubbles like 9IMPREZA6 said.

How many miles on the car? Original clutch/master/slave? Is there plenty of fluid in the clutch master? We need more info.

just got it. new clutch. i hear a noise engaging/disengaging the clutch pedal.
suspecting might be put on backwards? on the clutch. or maybe have a "racing" clutch
the brand name of the clutch is SACHS. =\

u know how when u let the clutch out the car moves w/o have to give gas.
well mine just wants to stall, just not smooth

Sachs is a reputable name. Lots of OEM applications, as well as HP applications in other makes.

The pedal action sounds like it's not quite the right design for the Subaru. It feels like you have to push past an optimum point and it gets real easy right by the floor? When you release it, itcomes up to a point, then feels like it hesitates, then it kicks you?

You can try planting your heel and moving just your ankle when first engaging the clutch. Once it makes it past that funky point, lift your leg.

If I am reading you right, you just got the car and it came with a new clutch job? If that is so, you need a new clutch master cylinder and clutch slave. Most manual trans cars will go 200,000 miles before needing new clutch hydrolics, but not Subaru.
If there was air in the system, you would not be able to even activate the clutch. What you are most likely getting is partial hydrolic pressure due to a worn clutch master cylinder.
Your new strong clutch pressure plate is stronger than the master cylinder piston seal can handle. You deffinitely need a new master cylinder, and replace the slave at the same time because it probably has oil leaking past its seal too. About $150-$200 in parts.
