Thanks for that Rob. From what I've read, my 06/07 2 pots are identical to the JDM GC STI 2 pots, so they'd bolt on to JDM R180 GC hubs?

They should bolt right up, the calipers are the same with the exception of raised lettering on the JDM ones and stickers on the USDM ones.

Got it. This is making a lot more sense. Basically, I don't want to widen my track, and I don't want to have STI axles hanging out at more of an angle or anything. The way I see it now, to do it ideally (for me at least) I'd need JDM Ver 6. STI axles and hubs, then I could use a USDM R180 bolted up to it?
If that's true, what about rear rotors? Will the 06/07 2 pot rotors work on the R180 GC hub? And what about the Ebrake cable?

Sorry pezcore, I'm not trying to hijack if that's not what you're intending to do My thought is there's gotta be a better way to do an STI 6 speed swap while still maintaining 5x100 4/2 pots than putting a weaker R160 diff in the rear. Hopefully this won't be too much more expensive either

No no I'm totally with ya, the more information the better. I'm in the middle of the same thing (hence the thread) with wanting to go 6SPD and keep 5x100 and JDM 4/2 pots.

My plan is to use as much from an 04 STi as possible (since they used 5x100)

No.
Please read above.

This has been answered a few times.

And many/most of the options & ways to do it are above.

Wow, there's a lot of confusing information here...not to mentioned it is scattered all around.

Having worked on and owning a GC with a 6mt, r180, and FHI 4/2pot brakes, here's what to use for the easiest and most reliable swap (in my opinion).

Going by the OP's setup (FHI 4/2pots and 5x100pcd):

Drivetrain:
-STi 6 speed (any year will work, but early 04 would be best since they have the stubs for the front axles)
-STi r180 (make sure the final drive matches the trans
(USDM ratios: 04-05=3.90, 06+=3.545)
-STi driveshaft
-USDM STi Front axles (match to trans type)**
**5MT axles will work as well, but you must match them to the trans style (see here)
-JDM GC R180 rear axles* (available new from Rallispec)
*(USDM rear axles will work, but the difference in track widths may cause issues with the CV joints later on)
-Manual DCCD controller (or replace the DCCD center diff with a 50:50 viscous coupling from a Legacy spec B)

Brakes:
-FHI 4/2 pot brakes
-FHI Grp. N Gravel rotors (made to fit over the r180 parking brake while retaining the 2 pot rotor size)*
* Available from Rallispec
-R180 parking brake assembly

That's all I can remember at the moment, If I forgot anything, be sure to let me know and I will add it on to the list.
