Angry How the f#$% do I deactivate the alarm?

Ok, well as many of you know, I bought my first GC last week. I love it. The only thing that is pissing me off is the alarm system. I want it gone now! That little red flashing light, the immobilizer built into the the keyless entry, the annoying chirp from under the hood...I HATE IT! In all honesty, I live in the boondocks. So if somebody wants to steal my car, they will whether it has an alarm or not. And around here, most people think it's just another Honda. But anyway...

I read the owners manual and it seems like my alarm is on the passive alarming bullshit which means after 60 seconds, whether you lock the doors or not, the ignition becomes immobilized and the vehicle will not start unless the "unlock" is pressed. Well thats all great except the RKE only works half the time . And it seems like the override button below the dash is broken , and the indicator light/switch is broken as well . I tried to set it in valet but it wouldn't go into it. And it looks like a rats nest of wires under the dash.

I work at a dealership and it wouldn't be hard at all to have one of the guys remove the system (hopefully), but I want to know if anybody has removed the system on their own. I would like to try it just for something to do.

Oh, and it is the factory RKE/Security system. Nothing aftermarket.

Just have them check it out and fix it. It is nice having the keyless entry.

reviving this thread. I installed a new aftermarket alarm in my car. The factory alarm has now become a nuisance and I want to remove it. I have no problem jumping the wires on the alarm system that need to be jumped. However, I can't figure out how the system deactivates the ignition, as it's not one of the pinouts on the alarm.

Anyone have any insight?

Yah there is a starter interupt plug that goes from the keyless entry module to the ignition wires near the steering column. Unplug the male and female plugs from the starter interrupt harness and then connect the starter wires together w/o the interrupt harness in between.
