Default Parking lights independent of headlights?

Is there a way to disable the link between the side parking lights and the main headlights on my 99 L?

Basically i dont want them to come on when i turn my headlights on..only when i use the parking light switch on top of the steering wheel or when i beep my keyless entry...

I did a search but couldnt come up with anything..is this even possible?

Any help would be great

Thanks guys

I don't htink there's an easy solution to your question. you would have to dig deep into wiring diagrams to figure out where the relays are and which belong to the parking lights.

if there aren't any wiring diagrams you can find, I suggest looking at the wires/bundles of relays behind the glove compartment - when you turn on your headlights/parking lights, there's a clicking sound coming from there; I think the relays reside in that area. good luck! hope that helps..

basically i was an idiot and hastily ordered some blue LEDs to replace the oem parking light bulbs..but i forgot here in canada you cant have any blue lights on the outside of your car..so i want them only to come on when i use my keyless or use the parking switch..not while im driving.

yea i know..go ahead and laugh lol

it would be as simple as cutting the wires at the headlight switch...but doing that for blue leds seems kinda a stupid
