| I've been searching forever and cant find the answers I need. From what I read the newer ECU's will learn around it but will the older ones do that as well? Also how can a car benifit from one of these? Just by changing voltages at the MAF and MAP sensors? and if its something too drastic will the ECU just go into open loop and tottaly disreguard the sensor readings? thank you. |

| you are in control on the fueling of the ecu. thats about it, no control on timing, etc. If you know what youre doing, its a great tool for any application. |

| for the most part, your closed loop tuning might get thrown off with the SAFC. open loop might be your best bet with it on your OBDII ecu. to make it easier, set your low throttle onset and settings to "0". by zeroing it out, you're not touching what the ecu wants to see in closed loop. at hi throttle, that's where you want the magic to happen and the ecu won't see it because it is in open loop. like jakeachy said, it's great for any car as long as you know what you're doing.

| ok thanks joejoe I searched all over for a tuning guide and all I could come across was the one for your turbo 1.8 but I think that was only for boost. |

| for NA subies, its good for leaning out fuel a bit since the cars run rich up top. having a high flow intake already leans up your air fuel ratio with more air coming in, hence more power. but if you can control fuel in more areas, you can get better results. run a S-ITC like i do and you benefit even better with timing control. APEXi piggybacks may not be a greddy e-manage or hks f-con, but it does the job well enough for me.

| its no longer available on their website. but you can find them on ebay or a couple guys on this forum. usually runs for $200 or so in good condition. ![]() it alters timing by tapping into your cam and crank angle sensors' inputs and outputs just like the SAFC. it has 5 rpm point knobs (800, 2400, 4000, 5600, 7200) to alter timing by -15 to +15 degree increments. anything between the rpm point adjustments are interpolated. it might be a little hard since it doesn't offer a wider range to tune with. but once you get the hang of finding where to give and take, you still can get great results out of it.
