| 3.3L | I need to either fab or find a neutral safety switch for my remote starter I'm putting in, being that it's a manual. Does a manual RS have a neutral safety switch? If not, what have others done to make a neutral safety switch for their manual ride? Thank You |

| There is only a switch in the clutch, the car will start in whatever gear as long as the clutch is depressed. I don't see how you would fit something that makes sure the car is in neutral. Sorry I'm not much help but I thought I'd at least throw that out there. |

| I know it can be done on the RS, several people have done it. Good luck with the research. I will try to find who had it done an ask them.

| I've done it, the switch is in the drivers side of the Trans. There are 2 switches, one for R, the other for N. I accessed the wires from just to the passenger side of the TB. There is a brownish-red plug with 2 wires going into each side. Unfortunatly, it's not a 5v to ground or a 12v to ground switch. The common 5v signal that the ECU feeds to all sensors is sent to the switch. The wire returning from the switch then goes to the ECU. NOt to a ground. And, I can't for the life of me remember if N is Open, or if N is Closed. . As a result of all this strangenesss, I decided do some trickery with a 12v solid state relay. I took complete control of the N safety switch, and used it as a 12v ground signal. Then, using a 12v solid-state relay, I emulated the N safety switch for the ECU. It might be a bit of a fudge, but it works.

| 3.3L | Oh wow, I might need an instruction list on how to do that. I don't know how to emulate the N safety switch using a solid-state relay. And then, I don't know how to connect it to the remote car starter. Any help on this, please? Thank You Quote:

| It doesn't have to be a solid state relay. You can use an regular old mechanical relay too if you wanted. I just didn't want to use a mechanical type since I knew it would be turning on and off with every gear change. I figured a solid state was less prone to failure. I hope!!
