| I've been studying engine management options for my turbo kit. I haven't decided whether I am going to get a Ludespeed kit or try and build a kit from OEM parts + aftermarket up/downpipes but that isn't the issue here... What I am wondering about is what can I do for an ECU? Previously I was looking at keeping the stock ECU and buying a J&S safeguard, maybe S-AFC and calling it a day but I was looking at this PerfectPower 6 ECU and I got to thinking: does this have knock control or similar already onboard? If so I can use this and it will be much less ghetto. I was thinking about getting this PP6 and the 2.5bar map sensor instead of voltage clamp, but i don't know if I can do it or not. Is it plug and play or do I have to wire the entire thing up? I am confident in my mechanical ability as far as getting the turbo installed/oil and coolant ran/ect but when it comes to electrical I fear I am fucked. Is there anything that is plug n play for under 600 bucks (about what I was going to spend for J&S safeguard/S-AFC) TL;DR: What EM options do I have that aren't a million bucks and are pretty easy to do? PS: Car is a 2000 2.5RS 5spd. |

| Ludicrous Mod | I got an EManage Ultimate for $400 used off of ebay. Coupled with a $20 used GM 2-Bar MAP sensor. The AEM F/IC is a "potential" option, if you're willing to risk the possibility of the misfire issue they have with "some" of our cars.

| Where do you live? I am close to getting my PP6 working. The problem is that Perfect Power has crappy wiring diagrams. I have good ones including the ECU pinout for your car I can send you.

Someone has offered me a Greddy Emanage all pre wired, do I need knock control with this? Also I didn't know about the misfire problem, thanks for the info. I need to avoid getting something that doesn't work because I'm on a limited budget, if I buy something that doesn't work it will screw me up and I will have to wait to finish it and I can't have my car down for months. Thanks for the info so far! | |

| 2.5L RS-T | Limited by budget usually ends up with a broken car and no other forms of transportation. Do it right, or don't do it. There are a great number of resources here and on nasioc where you can learn from others' mistakes. I can think of two epic quotes that sum up your situation: "If you can't afford to do it right....you can't afford to do it." " Cheap...Easy...Reliable....... ...Pick any 2."
