Default Stock ECU Mod?

Vehicle is a 1998 2.5RS coupe 5mt:

Can I (is it worth) having my stock ECU sent out (and who can do it?) to have the cat. converter specific codes erased for *cough* race use, so I dont get a "possible" CEL out of the hi-flow. I dont have heavy mods at this point nor plan to do much engine wise until a swap, I have headers, random tech hi-flow w o2 spacer, 2.5" cat back stainless to a scoobysport, and up front a K&N filter with stock piping after the MAF. I dont imagine there is much "tuning" that can be done on the stock ECU to take in account those changes unless anyone else thinks otherwise. Any input is welcome.

If you want a tune, srs-10 by crawford performance tuning. Send them your ecu they send it back. Around 400 bucks though. But they cannot delete that code or stop it from coming, however i think their working on that. If you dont want the cel, buy a pony express mil (og) from me 10 bucks. or a mil eliminator from supers if he still has them.Or you can do the mechanical fix and put 1-2 sparkplug antifoulers between the 02 sensor and the cat pipe. Search.

Oh i just went catless and only have 1 antifouler and so far no cel.

That sucks they cant remove the cat codes yet. Are the antifoulers just to move the 02 further away? Since I already have the rallitek o2 spacer the antifoulers are doing the same thing correct? I may not even get a light with the spacer, its going on in a few days maybe I will wait and see, the pony express looks complicated. Im just going to start praying to the car gods. I'm keeping my stock cat so I guess worst case I can swap for inspection.........

just a suggestion, have you looked into scangauge? it has a TON of features, and allows you to clear codes on the roll.

i use to have to ride with my CEL on all the time, i didn't think it would bother me. MAN WAS I WRONG! so i bit the bullet and bought a scangauge. now when i get my 420 code- 3 quick pushes of a button and voila! no more annoying CEL!

...until a few hours/days later until it comes back on again.....this may not even become an issue, and if need be I can swap the stock cat in once a year for inspection. Im looking into a good program I can use with my carpc, I just dont want to get too deep in just now, eventually I want a swap and standalone so freeing up my exhaust the better clutch and lw flywheel are just temporary feelgoods. And I cant imagine I would see a huge difference on an ecu reflash, not $400+ worth of difference anyway.

I use a super afc by apexi to fix all of my mass air flow and o2 sensor issues. It's worked perfectly for 8 years.

Short ram intake with maf and no plenum, and a cat delete pipe (mandrel bent 2.5" stainless)

My design cat delete pipe

If your cel is on you are running in safe mode and your performance will suffer.
