| 1.8L | Ok, so I just purchased a 96 impreza the other day which has a bunch of work done to it and I am having a very problem with the idle. It idles very rough and if I put it into neutral it stalls almost instantly. The car has a lightweight pulley and flywheel, a unknown brand cat back custom headers and a few other power modifications so I believe the cause for the stalling and rough idle is a lack of engine management causing the air/fuel ratio to be off. Do you think I just need engine management? |

| I doubt you need EM but is there any CEL's? The fly and pulley shouldn't make your car stall or idle bad, is it an automatic? O2 sensor can cause that.

| You should look at your IACV Idle Air Controll Valve...check/replace the gasket and clean the valve (use gas or alchohol to clean it very good then slap it back on) It is located right next to the throttle body. Its a cheap fix possibly if you find out its not due to a vacuum leak somehwere in your system. |
