| i have an Actron code reader and i was thought of a way to use the Actron cable to plug into my computer via USB. it has the OBD2 on one end, and a serial port like this on the other end that normally plugs into the scanner. ![]() now if only i can find a plug like this ^^^ to go to USB and hopefully it will work. like this.... ![]() what do you guys think?

| because of the signals that come out of that thing, I doubt you're going to get any where, and worst of all you might damage your car or computer. if you notice there are a ton on ebay called ELM327, thats not calling them a brand, thats the chip thats used to handle the pwm iso and other protocals the obd II port spits out. you cant do that with a serial to usb cable. sorry bub. |
