I got the 1000 grind. I didn't want to deal with the possible CEL's and the idle issues. I have to pass emissions and this is my daily driver, so I figured I'd stick to the mild ones.. and I'm happy with my choice.

My build is pretty much the same as yours. The EL Headers will be nice for some extra power. With those numbers, you should be running at least 150whp. Do you have 91 or 93 octane?
I run 93 all the time (Its my race/rally car)

Info on the build/thread is here: (Dyno at post#32)
How much power will I make?

It was a DynoJet. And my stock 98RS (DOHC) put down 120/130.

Post 60 in this thread:
Dyno'd the dying '00 RS... My power curve is broken :(
shows AcquaCows RS plotted against mine. He has stock cats with TWE headers and no ECU.

You can see I have some decent power on him on the top end, even with out the EL headers, but I think thats mostly the headwork, not as much the ECU.

My A/F curve was pretty bad, and depending on what I see when I re-dyno with EL headers I may do some logging and send it back to I-speed and ask for an update. You can see I am running a little leaner than Dave is on his STOCK Ecu and not really gaining consistent power on him until way up in the top end.

nice nice ... did you drive with the cams on before you got the reflash? what was that like bc i hear you dont really need one with the 1000 grind. i know it helps but it would be nice to get the cams and then save up for the flash instead of doing it all at once.

I drove around for a few thousand miles before I got the reflash, and it was fine. You don't necessarily need the reflash, but it's definitely a nice thing to have. You're getting the maximum out of all the other modifications when you get the reflash. It's like getting a professional tune with some EM, just not as customized and not NEARLY as expensive.

The 1000 is a pretty mild grind, you will be fine running a stock ECU on that. You won't be "maximizing your gains," but you will still have some and it should be fun.

Does the reflash raise the redline?
