^ Do those VagCom cables work with the 05 models?
I tried one on my 00RS, and could not get any protocols to work.
Neither SSM nor the ISO9141 worked. I expected at least the ISO to work, but it didn't for what ever reason.

They all say Audi/VW- I know the OBDII connection is the same, but will the programming work right with it? The Tactrix has all sorts of computer stuff in it that the vag com doesn't seem to have

If this will actually work then I'm pretty excited!

ps- it's an 06

Yes, the Vag Com KKL cables will both log and flash an 05+ ECU, assuming you actually install the proper drivers for it.

Nice! Whereabouts does one get the proper drivers? If you can show me a link I'll order the cable tonight. Thanks

Thanks bro I have a youtube video somewhere on the first page near the end of the original build post up with some revving and whatnot, it's the only one for now. Once I am able to connect to the car and tune it again I'll have the SC running more air and it will be properly tuned- that is the point at which we'll see a nice flurry of on-the-road and numbers videos coming in

Grab the drivers for whichever OS you have. Keep in mind that it'll be a manual driver install under Windows.

Thanks, I ordered the cable from the only dealer who doesn't live in Hong Kong (what's up with that???), should be here in like 4 days

With this manual install- how do I do it? I opened the folder and there's a bunch of files and readme's and stuff, what do I have to do to make them work? Thanks again for the help Williaty, you've saved my neck a few times now on this build

You're asking a Mac and UNIX guy how to do something on Windows, man. IIRC, when you plug the cable in, it should do the Found New Hardware dance. When it asks how you want to find the driver, I think there's an option to tell it exactly where to look. Use that to point it directly at the folder of downloaded drivers.
