Well the purpose would be to have something unique.

the purpose of a subaru is AWD. when that part gets thrown out of the equation, what's the freakin point? just put an ls1 in any other RWD car.

Because you want an LS1 in a Subaru, that would seem to be the point to me.

But haters gonna hate.

yeah and maybe i want to dress up a monkey in a tuxedo haha...just because i wanted to do it doesn't mean that it would be worth it lol. all the swap did was hurt the handling of the car, but wait it has an ls1 now, it's invincible lol

Most subaru owners destroy the handling of their cars by slamming them anyway

Fun fact - Subarus handle like a sack of hammers. The motor is too far forward, the macpherson front suspension has crap dynamic camber, the chassis is floppy and they're built with overly soft suspension.

So why fight it? I bet the LS1 powered bugeye is a hell of a lot more fun to drive than the ej205. Sure he could have done an ej257 swap, but if you're gonna drive an ugly car, you might as well make it unique.

I never understood the craze about putting LS1's into everything.

sounds like you've been inhaling a little too much exhaust from a corvette lately haha jk my point is why take a car that is renowned for its AWD and turn into just another RWD corvette platform. ls1 are old news anyways...the real story should be that ls7 in the pontiac fiero.

It's a really good motor?

Fully assembled it's 450lbs, which is about double an assembled ej257, Straight out of the box tho, 350hp 375ft-lbs. Cams, headers and an intake and you'll hit 500hp on pump gas with no problems. A bit more work will have you hitting 600+ with no forced induction, still on pump gas.

Massive powerband too, way better than anything you're going to get out of a subaru motor.
