Whether it happens in 3 years or 30 360000 km is the same (223693.6 mi for those who are metrically challenged).

And as far as the Cobalt SS interior, I don't understand so many people getting hung up on things like this. If its a good car, that is good to drive, the interior is not that improtant to me. Regardless the cobalt is near the end of its life. Look at the interior of a Cruze if you want to see what the new small cars are going to be like.

+1....yeah so the Cobalt might have some cheap stuff inside....we're car enthusiasts. We drive cars, not live in them.

yeah but most people want to be somewhat comfortable in what they drive everyday...when it comes down to it, it is all about preference like a couple of people have said on here...you guys are comfortable with shitty cheap interiors and other individuals like myself are not. but if you think of it, if the car manufacturer goes cheap on the interior, where else did they cost cut?

dude, you drive an RS. Dont talk about other cars having crappy interior. And I know from experience....I owned one. The reason automakers cut cost in those types of cars is because it isnt a luxury car. Their main goal for the interior is to put good seats in them, and go from there. If you they use crap plastic every where else so be it. They do that because the main goal of the car is a cheap, fun car that is more about the driving experience. Personally, as a car enthusiast, give me some comfortable seats in a good position and that is all I need.

last time i checked, rs's have many leather interior items and comfortable seats and that is a cheaper car than oh i don't know a 30,000+ dollar american car...

"They do that because the main goal of the car is a cheap, fun car that is more about the driving experience" no, they do that because they don't give a shit about your comfort and it saves them money.

The RS interior is cheap and not comfortable, ok? After moving to a WRX, the difference is very noticeable, and the WRX interior is even cheap. Can we move on?

Cobalt's are 30k? dang. But let me ask you this: Since we know they cut corners to make things more affordable, would you rather them make cuts on an interior and give you an interior that is pretty comfortable over very comfortable, or cut corners when it comes to performance?

a brand new cobalt ss is like 23,000 dollars and the price of a new rs is like 18,000...hmmm what could i do with the left over 5,000 dollars that i didn't waste on a cobalt? or lets say i got my 01 rs for 2500 dollars which i did...what could i do with the extra 20,500? i would make something a hell of a lot better than any cobalt would ever be

So, is it 30k or 23k? Make your mind up.

You are comparing apples to oranges. A 2.5i is cheaper, but again, the interior is still cheap. Even with 5g leftover, it probably wouldnt put the 2.5i close to the Cobalt as far as performance goes.

You're starting to get into comparisons in overall performance and not just interior like we were originally talking about. Heck, I could buy a well taken care of Pinto for 1g and put a bunch of money into, but in the end it's still a much older car with a worse interior and no factory warranty.

this is what I cant stand about some people on this board. They think Subies are the end all to anything automotive. while I will have a Suby in my driveway from now on, it doesnt blind me from seeing things like they are. In today's market, the Cobalt is a great performer for the money. Just a side note, but do you realize that the Cobalt SS pulls like a mid .9g on the skidpad? That's incredible for a pocket rocket. Plus, it has got some good power to back it up.

We're talking about stock for stock. And not trying to cake on but our interiors are shit compared to a new cobalt. Even my sisters corolla S has a better interior.

I think we should end the convo here and start a new thread for a dispute lol. This has gone way off topic of a car that was swapped with V8 haha. I don't want to see this thread turn out to be another one of those Neon threads and have someone banned. Can we move on people?

i'm not saying that subaru's are the end all for automotive. i never said that and the thing that i can't stand about people on here is that they put words in people's mouths that they never said. the reason this thread went off topic is that some people on here think that domestics are the end all for automotive when that is definitely not the case just as much as it isn't for imports. i never said once that subaru was the best, what i did do was say that in my opinion, I PREFER subaru to anything domestic based off of what i have driven.
