I'll be installing cams soon and have everything needed except the liquid gasket. I can't find three bond 1280b or the subaru liquid gasket. Would this gasket be of equal or greater value to those gaskets?

that's the thing...the closest dealer is 2 - 2.5 hours away from me ...don't really wanna drive that far for a $3 bottle of liquid gasket.

You should be able to use a permatex compariable product. Honda also makes a very similar product you could use.

Are you guys all using liquid gasket for the rear cam plugs, or do you dry install those?

No one ever answered this question, I was however advised by the dealership to use permabond liquid gasket on the rear cam plugs.

Im in the process of swapping my cams right now while still in the car but i ran into a problem. I cant get one of the plates off that hold the cams in. I double checked to make sure i got all the bolts out but i cant seem to break it free from the factory sealer. Any tricks to try and pop it off? I tried shockin it with a rubber mallet also cutting around the edge with a razor but the blade seems too thick. Any suggestions?

Small screwdriver and a hammer. Lightly tap and it should pop off.

Are you sure you removed everything holding it on?

Im posative. I used a big screwdriver and a hammer and still cant get the thing to budge
