Default Head Gasket Replacement - was this the problem?

Hello All,

I just finished disassembling and cleaning of the head and cylinder heads. 3 of the 4 heads had some carbon build up while the 4th was quite gunky. I was just wondering if this would be due to the bad head gasket or if there might be something else that would have caused the gunky buildup in that one cylinder.

Thanks Folks,

BlissMX,

Yeah pics would be nice.

Typically when there is coolant leaking into a cylinder it will be more or less carbon free compared to the other cylinders. The water/coolant mixture will steam clean that one hole.

Thanks My4isflat.

That's what I thought. Unfortunatly I can't post any pics, as I have put the heads back on.

Cheers,
