Default Some recent changes

As many of you know, James sold the RS Club to he could pursue other opportunities and get married and have kids. For more info, check out these threads:
New Admin and new forum section!
News: Why I sold the RS Club

I am very excited about the opportunity I have to work with some of the most loyal Subaru enthusiasts who are members of this site. If you have any problems, or have suggestions to improve the forum and make it a better place, please do not hesitate to post them. One of the reasons that James felt comfortable leaving the site in my hands is because he knows that I am active in the communities I am involved in.

Just wanted to point out some changes:

A 'forums' link has been added to the upper nav bar just below the header to enable visitors and members to get to the forums quicker (in the event they could not find the original link which is still in the same place).

Site News, Announcements & Feedback
I created a new category, called "Site News, Announcements & Feedback" so you can stay informed about the latest site news, let the mod team know about any problems you might be experiencing, and make any suggestion or enhancements that would make the RS Club a better place.

RS Club Lounge
Some of the forums in the RS Club Lounge are the most active and probably most visited forums when someone visits the site. The polls section was necessary to post polls on the home page. I am going to work with the mod team to move the polls to more relevant forums on the site where the information can be accessed by others who might not find it in the polls area. The polls forum has been made a subforum of General in the meantime.

RS Club Technical
The technical section is by far the second most active part of the site. For that reason, I moved it above the RS Club Racing section. This will allow our members to gain quicker access to the forums most important to them. I also reorganized some of the forums in the technical forum according to the relative usefulness and importance to visitors and members, including making "The Tool Box" forum a subforum of the "DIY - How-To Installs" forums.

Regional Forums
Previously, the regional forums increased the size of the home page since they were individual forums on the site. I have made them subforums and added an International section. As a result, it takes fewer mouse scrolls to view the entire forum index page. It should also speed up your individual load time in the event there is significant server load.

Off Topic Category
What to do with this I have yet to decide. Perhaps our members can suggest some changes to make it a better place...

Those are some of the biggest changes I have made lately. As always, your feedback is appreciated.

Enjoy!

I almost forgot one of the most important additions.

I created a Members' Journals forum in the RS Club Lounge. The Members' Journals forum is a place to ceate a personal thread, showing off your RS from the day you got it through each stage of your modifications and buildups while maintaining your personal wish list. This also gives others the opportunity to communicate with you about how you performed certain modifications or just to compliment you on the great job you have done in building your vehicle.

Ok well it seems good so far but I beg you not to go sub-forum crazy like some other websites I hang out on. It gets to the point where the site feels dead with all the new posts hidden away in various different sub categories.

You and I are on the same page. Finding the right balance that leaves members very satisfied after an adjustment period is important to me. The last thing I would like to do is alienate members.

I urge you to get in touch with me and share some of your thoughts and what makes this your favorite forum. It is important to me that the personality of this forum should not change.

The Members' Journals forum is a pretty cool idea. Almost like the old VbGarage.

Basically, this site is in a position where change is bad. It's perfect how it is on the most part.

I think as long as you keep the bashing to a minimum/none, unlike our other major Subaru site, you will keep most loyal RS25 guys. I for one love the fact that even the word...n00b is an unwritten no-no.
Anytime something would get out of hand James and/or Carisma would put a stop to it. Although James had his moments from time to time , I have to say, he was fair.
Again, as long as the community atmosphere of bashing, and n00b calling, and search-button call-outs don't overwhelm the site, we should be good!

Just my .02...
