Hey, my names Joe. This is my 99 RS Aspen Coupe 5spd (woot!). And this is my 8th car, im in the process of "re-doing" my members journal, its kinda messy and i havent done much in a while so bear with me.

A few quick pics...




THE PLAN!!!

After the drivetrain and suspension are pulled from the RS:

Body
-Firewall will be cut, and fitted for the RHD
-Autopower street/sport cage
-Sand and seam weld engine bay, interior and under body
-Bracing and gussets in engine bay and lower c-pillar/trunk
-Everything is getting painted over again in Aspen white
-Im going to make white plastic wheel well liners
-And all rust will be replaced and certain areas coated in Por-15

Engine
-It will be completely dissassembled and everything will be checked
-All bearings and seals will be replaced
-Heads will be gone through, but i will leave the STI porting and specs alone
-Cylinders will be honed
-New pumps and pulleys
-block will be sandblasted
-intake and other misc parts will be painted Wrinkle Black
-Exhaust will be blasted, coated and heat wrapped
-Ill need a custom uppipe and flange for the HX35 (which will be rebuilt)
-I need a cool color scheme for the engine bay, any ideas? like paint/powdercoating?

Interior
-Everything will be swapped to the RHD V3/V4 STI interior
-Im *looking* at a Sparco Evo2 plus, or Evo3 seat for the drivers side, and pass will remain stock
-Nardi wheel
-STI V3 Type RA blue face gauges, but with different needles
-Im trying to find an "old school" gauge set to use, i dont want any crazy defi gauges, something like lamco or VDO
-Rear seats will be taken out, hopefully replaced with Bakemono bulkhead in carbon
-It will be carpeted, but sound deadening will be removed from the front seats back

Thats about what i have layed out, i figure it should take me roughly 8-10 weeks with some BSing, parts finding, parts breaking etc etc. I have time so im not worried about it, but im gonna look for a better place to do the swap, just because, no perticular reason. So, what ya'll think?

Oh, one more thing... Im going oldschool, but should i do a V3 front end, or V4? (For those of you that dont know, V3 has the round, pre-97 headlights and grill, the V4 has the 97+ lights and grill but same bumper.)

1st run, the West Point goat trail. Parking lot, uphill, to finish line in 2:20 in a stock 2.5rs with catback on Hankook V4 ES. I didnt put any music in for the pureists, lol.

Yeh i know, its the only color that not many people have anymore, even aspen GDs are getting rare haha
