Default Knoonz's '99 RS

Here's my member journal for my '99 2.5 RS

I bought the car locally in November 2008 with 120k on the clock. I've been doing little things to it here and there, but it's hard to afford being jobless in college lol. I hope to have it set up nicely for auto x by the end of the summer (09). Maybe some day I'll swap it, but for now I don't really care if it can go fast in a straight line, nor do I have the funds to even begin to think about it :P

Mod list:

Engine/Drivetrain:
Custom intake (not finished)

Suspension:
KYB GR2 struts
Tanabe GF210 springs
ebay front and rear strut bars

Wheels/Tires/Braking
225/45R16 BF Goodrich g-force T/A KDW 2 t
16x7 Sprint Racing wheels
Muteki lug-nuts

Exterior:
Clear corner lights
Clear turn signals
Clear sidemarkers
OBS Grill? lol
Custom light bar with Hella 500s
Redded-out tail lights
Yellow fog tint
Pink I badge
Debadged trunk

Interior:
Dojo shift knob
Pioneer stereo
Pioneer door speakers
New RS mats

Plans:
Immediate(ish) future:
Timing belt/ water pump
FHI 20mm RSB
Solid rear endlinks (kartboy maybe)

By the end of summer '09 -
Kartboy short shifter, bushings
HPS brake pads, maybe new rotors
UEL headers
a nice catback system
possibly purchase BC racing br coilovers (install spring '10)

Well, I finally bought an RS after about a few months of looking.
I found, and almost bought a '98 RBP coupe, but the deal never went through.

Next, I found a silver '99 coupe, but it sold before I could get to it.

Same thing happened almost immediately after with a '99 RBP coupe which I don't have a picture of.

As luck would have it, I happened to go on craigslist Saturday morning, and there was a freshly listed black '99 RS for $4k. It had 120k miles, was standard, and looked clean. I figured I should check it out, so I did, and bought it on the spot. It's in great shape and the price was awesome (hopefully there's nothing wrong with it). Anyway, here it is in my garage (bad pics). I'll get better pics when I go back home for thanksgiving.

Here are the extra rims that the seller gave me with the car:

An almost new set of LGT's =)

Here is some paint damage on the front bumper which has since been treated a bit and looks better now:

I went home for Thanksgiving and did a thing or two to the car.

First, I replaced a bunch of rusted/missing nuts and bolts. Some of the vent bolts were missing so they were replaced, as was the left wiper nut cover. I also replaced the neutral safety switch because the old one was pretty worn and the car failed to start sometimes.
Next, I installed a new Pioneer stereo as the old JVC just died.

On Friday I picked up a Dojo shift knob and installed it. I like how it looks and feels, but it gets really cold.

I figured I'd take a couple of pictures right before I went back to school. It was raining and my camera died so they probably didn't come out that good.

And I just ordered a set of these for the summer:

Now that I'm officially poor I don't know how much I'll be buying for the car ;]
Until next time,
Kyle

I actually just learned that a couple hours ago. I was getting worried because I saw that LGT rims are 17's, and I just ordered 16" tires. But then I saw that mine are 16's, luckily. Thank you for telling me what they're off of though, I wasn't sure.

Was this car in like St. Louis or Kansas City?? If so, I tried to get a hold of that dealer SOOOO much. I wanted that car more than anything in the world. I tried to call about 30 times a day and never got a hold of them.
