| Ok so i finally decided to post a journal about my car. Its a 2002 Savannah Green Metallic two-toned Outback Sport. Bugeye Wagon with a 5MT and SOHC EJ251. I purchased this car back in august of 2006. I had totalled my daily driver which was not a subaru and was looking for a new ride. I hadnt really given much thought to Subaru specifically when i was shopping. Few friends had WRX's and i loved STI's still do. I found this car at a Used car dealer with 58000 miles on it. The original owner was a lady who had a floral business and i assume she used it mainly for deliveries. It smelled awesome when i first sat in it . Took the car for a test drive. Loved how it handled and the peppiness of the 2.5L engine. Wasnt too thrilled about the noisy valvetrains these cars have but i became used to it. She had a power moonroof installed which i loved also. Basically the car was babied. So i did the paperwork and drove it home. That was a completely new experience for me because i started modding cars with a DSM back in 2003. Didnt know much about boxer engines other than the menacing growl from modded sti's and wrx's. So i am very anal about maintenance on my cars so i went ahead and gave it a full tune up(plugs wires, oil, coolant, brake fluid etc...) Didnt do much to the car until the following summer. heres what it looked like originally ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() well plus the aftermarket exhaust!

| Drove the car bone stock for a few months before i decided to start modding it. My first purchase was a K&N panel filter to help the breathing. Then i decided it was time to start getting the full subaru experience, so i did a little research on my own (wasnt enough) and bought a WRX catback for it. I made sure the diameter of the piping was 2.25 inches so as not to disturb the exhaust velocity, but i learned real quick that WRX exhaust systems and N/A systems were mounted differently. And so began my first crack at "modifying". I had to cut and rotate the flange and extend the piping approx. 2 inches in order for it to bolt up. Once that was done i fired it up and fell in love! Finally boxer rumble!!! Of course i got flamed for having that huge tip sticking out of an otherwise bone stock subaru but i couldnt get enough of the exhaust note. Went thru my first winter with it and loved how it handled in the snow. So i decided to get SMART about what i wanted to do and i signed up on here in Nov. 07. Started asking questions and learning about our cars. And then the mod bug pretty much took over from there. I then decided to paint the stock wheels. Black ![]() ![]() Got many compliments on how the black and green went well together Everything was fine for a while and then about the time i joined up here i started to develop a HG leak and before long i had a used EJ251 with 56000 miles put in because my leaking HG's finally destroyed my bottom end! So the car had a newer motor in it, was running great and I was happy with it.

| Over the winter i saved up some money and decided i needed the car to handle even better and i wanted more speed. I purchased a set of Goldline lowering springs and dropped that thing to the floor! i bought a 20mm RSB also. Made a noticeable difference in the handling of the car for sure. Then i found a good deal on some AGX's so i paired them up with the springs i had and it made even more of a difference. Unfortuneately i ended up selling the AGX's within a month because i ran into some financial problems and my friend bought them for his WRX wagon. So for right now it sits on 20mm RSB and stock struts /Lowering springs. i plan on going all out and either picking up better Strut/spring combo or getting some coilovers and beefing the sway bars up to 25mm(crazy right?). Next thing i did was get rid of the plastic maze (snorkus) under the hood and purchase a Ganzflow style intake pipe to connect to the stock torque box. Then i bought a grounding kit from Paranoid Fabrications and installed that. Smoother idle no jerking in 1st gear, overall nice mod. I also bought 15mm Wheel spacers for the rear which pushed the stock wheels right to the fender (flush). no rubbing issues whatsoever, and no problems with wheel bearings either. This is what it looked like stock.......... ![]() And this is with the lowered springs and wheel spacers...... ![]() ![]() Here is the intake....not on the car, will post engine bay pics soon! ![]() just picture it without the filter on the end! And the wheel spacers..... ![]() I had this style SRI on for about 2 weeks before the Honda-like noise drove me nuts ![]()

| Bought better front rotors for it along with better pads. The rotors were cross drilled and definitely helped with the stopping. Then i decided to finally break down and get my BORLA header. Installed it along with a resonator for my midpipe, and got greedy and bought a HFC and a track pipe! For now shes got the stock kitties in because of emmissions and noise....Believe me its loud enough the way it sits now! People ask me all the time when i swapped it.....i just laugh and pop the hood! I got cosmetic with it and bought a set of blacked out headlights and installed a wrx grill and insert pieces next to the grill(pictures soon). Bought the hyperwhite bulbs and threw them in there also! As of right now this is the way the car looks minus some new interior goodies and the headlights! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Also recently purchased some gauges for it because i figured...WHY NOT! Yea they are glowshift 7 color kinda cheapy gauges but i figured what the hell! So i now have 3 on the pillar: Oil pressure, Vacuum, and A/F ratio (light show). But one of the colors happens to match my stock gauges background color perfectly! Also picked up a Mr. Josh LW crank pulley! Most recently i decided to finally get a reflashed ECU. After doing plenty of research into Rallitek's PP6 and Crawford/I-Speed SRS reflashes, I decided to go with the reflash from Crawford. I purchased the SRS-20 Reflash which nets you about another 15-20 HP. With shipping it cost me $404.00 and is worth EVERY penny. By far the best mod i have done yet. The car pulls much harder above 3k and the redline is increased to 6500rpm. I cannot say enough about how much i love this new ECU! I would highly recommend it for N/A power! Next mods will probably be window tint and upgraded suspension. Possibly thinking about Delta 2000 cams and a better tune! Ultimately i would love to swap this with a nice EJ20 or STI motor but for now im happy with N/A. Ill keep updating this with new pics and mods! Thanks for checking it out!

| Well as of last week i know have a spare EJ251 Longblock in my basement now. I will be playing around with it this winter. The bottom end is shot on it but i will be tearing the whole thing apart and rebuilding everything. Im open to suggestions as to what i should do with this build.....low compression pistons for a turbo, or forged internals, or stock parts and have a spare motor???? I will be posting pics soon!

| What i meant to say was it is an aftermarket N1 style catback for a WRX. Not a stock WRX catback. Sorry if it came off that way!
