| Updated: A lot has changed since I purchased the wagon a year ago! I didn't realize how out of date my specs were! Car: 95 L wagon 207,789 Miles Still Caribbean Green! Engine/Drivetrain: EJ22T 2.2L (110K miles) Powered by Legacy Turbo OEM ECU 440CC Injectors P/P uppipe P/P VF10 Turbo 3" Helix Downpipe to open exhaust cutout OR STI axleback :-D Greddy oil cap and catch can (Oooh) Front Mount Intercooler and "custom" intake "custom" intercooler spray 2000 Impreza Outback Transmission/ WRX shifter and linkage ACT 11lb. I finally found one on Craigslist in Columbus that needed an exhaust and rear wheel bearings for $950. Some college chick was selling it 'cause she couldn't work the stick . I have a whole pile of parts just waiting to go on the car:Engine/Drivetrain: EJ22T Heads, Manifold, uppipe, VF11 turboz, Downpipe Unorthodox Racing Pulley STi Axelback exhaust Greddy Counterweight Shift Knob Suspension/Brakes: Vented Rear Disks RSB conversion: Lateral links, bar, mounts Cheap coilover sleeves (don't know if I'll use them) Front/Rear Strut bars Body: V5/6 Front bumper, grille (Yah, it's the RS but who's keeping track?) MY97 headlights ------------------------------------------------------------------- That's it so far. I'm trying to be as cheap as possible. The rear swaybar and vented brakes setup only cost $200. Front end conversion breaks down as follows: Bumper- $230 from subaruparts.com Lights- $70 from here Grill- $80 from Advance Auto Clear bumper signals- $30 ebay Pics: When I brought the car home I thought I should celebrate by throwing on the racing suit and running through the front yard :redneck: ![]() Ready and waiting for the rear brakes! ![]() Needed to fix some fender rust so I took it off. I guess the L came with no form of fender bracing? ![]() Best part of the wagon? Storage room! All my spare parts waiting inside... ![]() Brakes and sway woo! ![]() I still need to decide what to do with the struts. Since I have the rear of the car torn apart and I have an axle to replace up front I will need an alignment and would need another alignment if I did struts at a later time. I don't know if I want AGX or GR2. I should get some AGX but I already have a spare GR2 so I don't know... Paint is the other thing. I haven't seen any cars done with the RS conversion in this color so I can't imagine if it would even look decent. I kind of want to shoot it flat red. Last edited by n2x4; 08-18-2010 at 07:17 AM.. | Thanks for the comments guys. I did some fitting of the RS bumper to the car on Sunday. I reused the stock L beam instead of spending $60 on the STi Lightweight one. Some cheap hacksaw blades, a harbor freight angle grinder, and a bada$$ grinder my dad had in the garage performed some "weight reduction" on the bumper: ![]() Setting the beam back in place, I test fit the bumper skin probably 20 times before I had cut enough that it fit right. If you've never seen the beam, for reference the second "bar" looked like the top piece: ![]() And finally, the test fit of the new skin! ![]() I also painted a few suspension parts and the brakes. I got some Rust Converter from Walmart. Seems to do a decent job. Sprays on clear but converts the rust black (which is apparently Zinc). I need to find some lateral link bushings before I can finish installing the rear disc conversion. I see Noltec is now out of business so it's either Whiteline (which will take 6-8 weeks to get here) or STi rubber bushings. I think I'm going the STi route... I still need some input on the paint. I'm leaning towards the stock teal/aqua color. It'll be a lot easier to shoot just a hood, bumper, and a fender than the whole car. Yes, I'll put some wheels on the car. For the time being I have some spare Legacy alloys: ![]() |

| Car's looking good so far man. I remember when I had to trim up my stock L beam to fir the RS bumper, was quite an ordeal. Have any pics of your legacies? Have a couple legacy turbo shell's in my backyard. |

| So the paint finished drying on the links and brakes. I also got my replica STI fog covers from Primitive- they're nice! So with a wire wheel to scrape off loose rust, a can of rust converter and a can of rustoleum flat my parts look like this now: ![]() Pretty impressive when you scroll up to the top of the page and compare the before shot I think! Test fit of the fog covers- can't wait til it's all one color!!! ![]() JDM axelback yo! ![]() Still haven't ordered my lateral link bushings and I ended up needing to replace the Ebrake pads. While I was painting one of the shoes disintegrated I guess better now than while the car was parked on a hill... |

| Weekend Update! Continuing with the budges upgrades. I bought some window tint 20% on the back windows. Wasn't too hard and makes a huge difference in the car's look! ![]() Decided to short throw the shifter. Cut the welds off the bracket and raised it up. Also took off some of the threads. Flat black and the Greddy Counterweight looks hawt. ![]() ![]() Also modded the tranny mount. 3M Window Weld Liquid Urethane. You can see that one of the bolts is different. I managed to snap the stud when I removed it from the car. Oh well. Take a look at the before and after though. It's rock solid. I also shot some into the rear diff bushings. ![]() ![]() So window tint- $22.00 Shifter- $0.00 Tranny and diff mounts- $11.00 Total- $33.00 in mods. Not bad for a weekend. |
