Default A work in progress MY98 (56k, not a good idea)

**Pics of Swap starting on page 2**

Last year a month after my birthday in June, I finally got my license and started driving around in a 03 ford ranger, something we had around that was barely ever driven. I had seen a 98 black rs on ebay once and instantly fell in love and decided i had to have one of those. I searched constantly and found this site. After awhile, i almost picked up a 95L swapped with rs engine, but it had too many problems. Finally, in October, i found one on autotrader, a 98 rs with 123k on the clock for 5700 dollars. Since it was in NJ, we had to get shipped over here. This was a painful process which took twice as long as it should have, but finally my car came. I couldn't have been happier. So, the day after i got it home, i snapped these pictures:
i wasnt paying attention and there was a smudge on the lense

little did i know as did the dealer in NJ, but the car came with a bunch of stuff extra. KYB AGX's, cobb f+r sway bars, ebay tower braces, short ram intake, sony cd player and full pioneer system complete with trunk subwoofer, 99-01 guage overlays, hella 500's, v6 front bumper, JDM tails, clear corners, and pink I badge.

soon after i was able to take it off road for the first time on a piece of property nearby

kinda fucked up the paint on the lower side of the car, but it was still a lot of fun. then i did my first mod and painted the headlights

Traded the coupe spoiler for a v6 spoiler to a local guy, ran wingless for awhile until i got it painted, but this took awhile

then, by this time, it wa christmas time, so I purchased an sti exhaust with gift money
(midpipe in garage)

and finally got it installed

then the spoiler got painted, i was happy

and an rs25 sticker ftw

As well as the exhaust for christmas, my dad signed me up for a racing school at infineon, which was a blast. (quick thing, the week before, i got hit my a guardrail and broke my headlight and fucked up the bumper )

some more random pictures, snowed at my house, which never happens

bought amber corners. Spent a couple days during the summer repairing my bumper with a plastic compound filler, here is the outcome

traded my exhaust for an hks world sport exhaust with a different tip, bought mudflaps how the car currently sits

did some rallyx's and an autocross in there as well, but not many pictures.

I didnt mention that after i broke my headlight, i purchased a new one from Supermoose. While i was at his friend's house, i watched them install a new radiator in derek's car. He offered me to drive his car, which i ended up doing even though i had never done rhd before. (back when his ej20k was still good) after that, i knew my car had to fast like that.
During the following summer (just a couple months ago) I found a wrecked 2006 wrx TR on ebay for 3000 but got it lowered to 2.8k. I headed on down to socal with a trailer and our truck and picked up the car. Brought it back and stripped the interior and other bits

did some more work recently

then yesterday, me and friend dropped the engine and i took a lot of stuff out today

(lugs were the ones that are on the inside rather than the outside, didnt have a big enough allen wrench. Actually turned out good because we could roll it around a bit

the car now

yours truly on left and friend on right (cheesy shot ftw)

I'll have a lot more progress in the next couple weeks, hoping to have my car swapped before christmas break.

Wow, looks good, and I am extremely jealous that you got that whole WRX for less the 3k...

Keep up the good work. Are you doing the wireing part yourself.

yea i will be. I don't know exactly how everything goes, so i label everything so i know what it goes to. I will be using the entire harness from the wrx and then just splice for the headlights and such

Looks good, great pics too... I've seen some other them from time to time but didn't know it was the same car, but now I see them all together!

You got a sweet deal on the RS with all of those bonus parts and an even sweeter deal on the wrecked WRX. You are a lucky guy.
