Anyone done any work stretching urethane? I'm hoping that I can just get it nice and hot and pull it out. It's getting repainted so that's not an issue. it needs to come out about 2.5" on each side.

| RS-T | Heat the entire bumper up to a moderate temp, (>200 degrees f) and then using a decent heat gun heat up the area you want to create the bend alot more (almost 400 degrees f). You need to ensure you localize the high level of heat to only the area that you want to actually deform. The reason for heating the whole bumper up moderatly is to prevent "crazing" from happening where fine lines and ridges will develop on the surface of the bend. When you apply the force to bend the bumper be gentle initially, and then progressivley increase the load until it begins to deform, you may have to do it in a few stages and let it rest in between for a few seconds between bends. I have fixed quite a few big dents in plastic hoods and bumpers like this as well as bent bumpers for custom apps. Hope that helps. |

| I think we'll have to work out some sort of bracing to hold out the bottom corner of the bumper if we want that to work, flamebowi. But at this point, I think I'm ok with it. I'm just anxious to get this thing back on the road ready for racing season, more than what it looks like ![]() I wont even be painting it for the first little while, haha
