I purchased the car from Exotic Motors in Rolling Meadows, IL on 1/30/2009 for $6300 before fees, tax, title, license. The showroom was beautiful, and they were a pleasure to deal with. They even gave my car a fresh detail inside and out the day I took it home, plus they've got a lot of ridiculously nice cars in the showroom to ogle.

To start things off, here's a picture of my previous car - a 1988 Buick LeSabre - AFTER the collision with a backhoe that destroyed the frame and could have killed me. Gotta love negligent drivers operating heavy machinery!

Stupid me deleted the pictures I took of the subaru the day I brought it home, so I went out today and had a bit of a photo shoot.

So that's pretty much that. It's got 93,334 miles on it right now, it's bone stock, and seems to be in fairly good shape. I still haven't taken the time to shoot the interior, but I'll get around to that eventually and add a few pictures to this post.

Alright...here's the bad news!

Body rust, ohnoes! Passenger rear wheel well...not too bad yet, but could become terminal cancer in relatively short order in these Wisconsin winters. This is probably the first thing that I will fix (hopefully I'll be able to afford to have it done over the summer, I don't trust myself with body work of this magnitude.)

Bumper rash - the most minor cosmetic issue aside from a few very small dings in the sheet metal.

Bent hood I may be able to bang this out, but I'm not sure I really want to try it just yet...My mechanic used to race stock cars, so I'm sure he'll be able to tell me if this is fixable or not.

More damage to the hood, and a busted grill:

Yet more damage to the hood, you can't tell from this angle but the sheet metal is actually bent up in this spot as well:

But if I move to California, I'll have to make quite a trip just to find some snow to drive it on... I know that it needs some work, but this is a car I plan on keeping around for approximately forever, so it'll be a slow and steady process cleaning it up, and totally worth it.

I know what you mean...I've had it for like three days and I already feel like it needs to be washed again.

Awesome!

I just went to the store to buy some milk and discovered that some asshole/idiot has broken off my driver's side mirror, it was hanging on by the wires. I have to drive some people from my team up to Milwaukee tomorrow, so for the time being I've secured it with duct tape (ouch) and a zip tie (double ouch.)

It looks like the bracket where the mirror attaches on to the base (the folding mechanism) was cracked.

Anyone got a part number or something? I will NOT be driving around with duct tape on my car for any longer than ABSOLUTELY necessary.

Not happy.
