| Im lazy in the summertime when it coes to washing. I just cant stand going out to the 115+ weather to wash my car and drip sweat all over it in the process. So, what I do, is go to Circle K or Chevron. Run my car through the wash for 7 bucks (which includes crappy wax, wheel scrub, and underbody spray), than dry myself. I get one large 100% cotton towel and a couple small terry cloths and an older towel for my wheels. I run the large one over the few water spots that are left very lightly. Than I do the doror jambs, cuz the dryers cant reach them. I open the hatch and whatnot, than do the wheels and spray a dressing on the tires. It takes me abou 30 minutes, 10 of which is waiting in line in my car with te a/c on and sitting in the car during the wash. There are a few air dryers that blows off 95% of the water, so that makes drying quick and easy I have to pull to the gas pumps in the shade to dry or my car dries instantly in this heat. |

| I have an old shammy that works amazingly. Its leather, not the hybrid fabrics they use mostly in todays shammys.. which imo are junk.

| Usually I do really bad job of drying it ( I use towels to get the heavy stuff then go back over it with mf towels) then it still leaves swirls cuz the sun in 95+ heat just leaves the little water spots on my car like its baking or something. After that I pull my car into my garage, wait a few minutes for it to cool down then I got at with some Meguiars Quick Detailer and some mf towels. After all that, my car looks its best. |

| my technique is to use the california water blade. i used to think this thing sucked cuz it left marks, but then someone told me it was because it was dirty, and sure enough, that was the problem. when using a waterblade, you HAVE to make sure you wash it off right before you are ready to dry the car. i use the blade from top to bottom, and then i have 2 microfiber towels to pick up water left behind. the first towel gets really wet, and the second one gets the itty bitty beads left behind. put one in each hand. that is my technique. if i could fathom spending 15 bucks on a towel, i'd get a chamois. for the wheels i use old white t-shirts to dry them, spray the tires, then polish the wheels off with the same raggy t-shirts.
