| You won't get out of the car what you've put into it. For the money, I would buy the newest, lowest-mileage STI drivetrain you can, have it checked out, and have it swapped. Three grand in a sound system? Really?

| Premium Member | A modified car is always worth less. If you are going to sell it, return it to stock as much as possible. It'll be easier to find a buyer. Personally I would do a swap. Insurance would be wayyy cheaper. Need some for info though for a proper assessment. Age, job, debts, future outlook... If you have the money to spend on it, then I say go for it. But if you have any amount of debt, no additional savings, or you have some large expenses in the future, then you should stay as is. $11k is a lot however you slice it and in the long run, you would be better off investing it or paying off bills. Vehicles are terrible investments....but a whole lot of fun. If you really want the added power but cant justify it financially, then you could sell the RS, but an older L and an WRX/STi drivetrain and swap that into the L. That would run I would guess in the $10k-12k depending on the year of the motor you buy and how much work you do yourself.

| Its a GD. sell it and buy STI. your car will never be as good as an STI. Swaping will be a headache and time consuming. It would be better to go out and buy STI because all you would have to do is- get in it and drive.......thats it, really simple. If you are really set on doing sti swap it won't be cheap and I don't think that you'll make it with your budget and someone else working on it.

| ^^ agreed. take some of the mods off your RS, sell it for whatever you can (maybe $6k - $8k) and then buy an STi and call it a day |
