Which I don't know how they can do that, being that the FDA still doesn't have jurisdiction over cigarettes... but whateve...
The FDA does not have monitor cigs because they market claims to their use.
E-cigarettes in contrast DO, that is why they will probably fall into FDA jurisdiction and why they will most likely be banned until they are able to support such claims. (see my recent post)
The FDA is not charged with testing these products, rather it is up to the company to provide supportive data.
Now here where it gets interesting (insert my bias against the FDA)...
The FDA does not test pharm agents, PHARM companies test their drugs and tailor their findings to suit their needs and submit/withold data to the FDA for approval.
Primary FDA funding does NOT come from goverment (us) monies. Rather the majority of FDA funding lobbiest via the private pharmaceutical companies (merk, phizer, astra, etc...).
I would be surprised if Phillip Morris wasn't involved in funding (but I havent looked into it). Phillip Morris has taken a public stance against e-cigerattes though, this is due to not wanting fingers in it's pot.
It's not all as simple as the FDA just being difficult.
It's trully much darker than that.

Again, this is all just my speculation based on the facts I've read.

I just made a pretty big order form Eastmall.net . I cannot explain how awesome their customer support is as well as the prices. I had a little trouble after the checkout and sent a couple e-mails to Ed. He responded incredibly fast and answered every question i had. I was a little concerned about ordering from china but i'm 100% satisfied with my purchase and it hasn't arrived or been 24 hours yet. lol

I ordered 2 901 kits for my mom, 2 atomizers, 15 carts, and 300mls of fluid. They have a special going if you buy 5 20ml bottles they will throw in 2 extra for free. If you buy 10 bottles you get 5 extra for free, 20 bottle = 10 extra for free. This offer is going till the end of May. Also if the order is over $200 its free air mail(7days). I got Menthol, RY4, clove, orange, peach, spearmint, mango, black tea, french pipe. I think i will be the first here to OD on nicotine. lol

If anyone is gonna make a purchase let me know so I can get some referral points

okay. I'm late onto the bandwagon, but I'm totally in.
Trouble is, I want to order right this second and Widows is out. who else has the quick-ass shipping I so desire?

well. i went ahead and ordered a 901 kit from vaporguys.com. hopefully they ship fast.
60 bucks shipped for 2 atomizers, 2 batteries, charger, 5 carts, plus a little bonus 3 mil bottle. they didn't seem to have many good flavs, so I'll get them elsewhere.
I pretty much looked around for the best price for a kit with 2 atomizers & batteries. cheapest way for my girlfriend and I to both have one to try out.

now...do most of you just keep topping off your old carts, buying blank carts, or replacing the wicking material with random bullshit?

You just top off the carts with fluid. After awhile you'll have to replace the filler material or just buy a couple black carts. That 3ml bottle will probably be gone in a day or two. You can still order some fluid form Widows and get the free shipping. If you can wait a week pickup some fluid from Eastmall.net. They have some incredible prices on fluid and a ton of flavors. Let me know if you order and i'll Pm you my E-mail.

The "wick" crap is actually 100% Poly fill. You want to find the finest Poly fill that you can get at your local Michael's or any arts and crafts store. I find that the Poly fill that comes in the cartridges will last a long time if you just clean then every now and then.

Problem is with the poly fill is that you can't get the right stuff here in California. So have a friend send you some from an arts and crafts store in another state. California adds chemicals to the poly fill to make sure that it is non-flammable, which can be hazardous to your health.

Default Just Finish my Magnum and USB mods

Well i just finished up with a couple of mods. I've actually had 2 out of my 3 batteries die recently so it gave me a little more motivation to make an alternative power source. First one i made with a USB passthrough.

Its pretty simple. I just stripped a thin USB cable i had, gutted the stock battery to just use the housing, soldered the Positive to a momentary tactile switch, then to the positive from the switch on the connector. The ground went straight to the outside of the connector. I wrapped the switch with some electrical tape until it was snug sliding into the housing and then added some shrink tubing. All i had were white zip ties so that had to do for now. It works very well and produces a good amount of vapor. You'll never have to worry about batteries as long as you have something with a USB port.

Next was the Magnum. Its a little harder to explain so if anyone is interested i can point you in the right direction. It runs off of 2 CR2 3.0V 800ma batteries. It produces A LOT of vapor. Almost a little too much for my liking. The Magnum can be made for around $20 worth of parts. The thing I like the most about it is that if you drain all your batteries and dont have you charger around you can pick up some CR2 at your local Walgreens/CVS which makes it pretty convenient. I made an extra one so i'm gonna put it up for sale and see if anyone bits.
